I love Thursdays!

I assume Thursday, for most people, is kind of like Tuesday's equally awkward twin. It's not revered like Friday and Saturday; not cherished like Sunday; and certainly not as notorious as Monday or Wednesday. Nope... it's just plain ol' vanilla Thursday.

But not in my house. In my house Thursday is a reprieve from the chaos and demands of its fellow days. Now, in fairness, it didn't gain this elevated status on its own. It was born of the wonderful opportunity that I and my husband have to work from home. Though I only once a week, Thursday's the day!

When I first learned of this development, which came with Babe's new job last year, I was a bit worried. Both of us are frequently on calls and our desks are in the same area. Would we disturb one another? Would the router support us both being VPN'd into our respective work networks? Would I have to start changing out of my PJs? Would he expect me to make lovunch every Thursday? These are just some of the questions that ran through my mind before we actually piloted this new regime.

A year later all of those worries are gone. Babe can look forward to me bringing breakfast each Thursday, when it's time for me to come down and begin work. I can look forward to providing spirited vocals and chair dancing to his awesome Pandora station. We both can roll our eyes and sigh on muted calls, while exchanging sympathetic glances. And on occasion, we can venture out of our office for a quick lunch date. It's like having a work-spouse without fear of nasty rumors or harassment charges!

So while he may need to reset the router from time to time and I may need to take a call in another room from time to time, Thursday is aces in my book. I get to crack jokes and smile at my best friend all day, and get paid to boot! Who could ask for anything more?
