Talk To Me Tuesday - I got my fitness mojo back, and then some!

Remember a couple Tuesdays ago when I posted about my lack of motivation? If not, let me sum it up: I'd gotten lazy about food and fitness. Now, I'm not delusional. I get that I'm not obese. I've just wandered a long way off from my bodybuilding days.

(That's me on the right!)

I'm glad to say that I'm back on track! I'm in my 3rd week of my revamped fitness and nutrition routine and I couldn't be happier with my results. But, that's not what this blog is really about. It's about my rekindled passion for fitness; my passion to help others get fit!

In addition to being a former soldier and former body builder, I'm a former personal trainer. I decided to become a personal trainer after my grandmother, who raised me, passed away. For my entire life she'd struggled with obesity and obesity related health problems. Those problems ultimately took her life and crushed me. I knew I had to help others avoid the pain of losing someone to these preventable health issues. Thus, I studied hard, passed my testing, and received the ACE Personal Trainer certification. I loved helping people, but wasn't quite ready for the mental strain I felt when my clients would not reach their goals. I took each misstep personally. Instead of rejoicing with my clients who were succeeding, I fixated on those who, for various reasons, weren't. Ultimately, my family and I decided that it was too much for me to work full time in the corporate world and go train folks in their homes in the evenings. I let my dream go and kind of felt like part of me died.

Until last week... Last week, I had an epiphany! I could motivate people and help them reach their goals online. No long evenings away from my family. No creepy trips to strangers' homes on my own. No fear of running late at work or being called out and needing to reschedule a training session. Just access to awesome folks, across the globe, that need a little guidance and motivation. I'm in!

So my question today is: What do you think of online fitness coaches? Would you use one in lieu of/in conjunction with a local trainer? Let me know your thoughts.
